Today’s (Wednesday, February 22, 9 am)  benchmark price for WTI Crude Oil is $105.96/barrel. On this date a year ago the price was $99/bbl (www.oil-price.net). This price went to $110/barrel by the end of winter.

One-year forecast: $122/barrel.

#2 Heating Oil prices in Maine, cash delivered, average $3.79/gallon, according to the Maine Office of Energy Independence weekly survey announced February 20.  

Current prices for wood pellets ($240/ton) equate to #2 Heating Oil at $2.00/gallon.
